QIUP STUDENTS PITCHING (COMMUNITY PROJECT)

Communication students wowed the judges

Four groups of students presented their branding and marketing communication strategies today. The group that emerged as champions were ME & EARTH. They wowed the judges and crowd with their ingenious creative strategies and tactics in carrying out the eco enzyme project.

Eco-enzyme is created from a combination of fruit peels, water, and brown sugar. It has a multitude of uses including as a cleaning supply for floors, for dishes, and even as a face or body wash for human beings.

This project is spearheaded by Persatuan Kebajikan Lim Hock Chiang, which is a Non-Government Organization (NGO). The project is primarily funded by Institute Darul Ridzuan (IDR).

As part of the students’ assignment in a brand management course, the students were required to create a branding for the project and implement a marketing communication campaign. The judges for the students’ proposals were:
• Mr Abdul Qadir Osman bin Mohd Aros (Institute Darul Ridzuan)
• Mr Chong Yeong Ming (CEO of Polyware S/B)
• Mdm Lim Moh Nee (Chief Business Development Officer of Polyware S/B)
• Ms Olivia Cheah (Secretary of Persatuan Kebajikan Lim Hock Chiang)

The winning team were thrilled as they were rewarded with shopping vouchers worth RM500.

En. Abdul Qadir, COO of IDR gave a thumbs up to the students. He said, "they are impressive and industry ready." He added, "kudos to the lecturers involved".
